PROGRAMME AND OTHER NEWS

CENTRE SUNDAY 28 th October

Otherwise known as our cleaning day, please come along to the centre on SUNDAY 28th October. From 11 am onwards. We do this twice a year in the Spring and Autumn to ensure the upkeep of the centre. This time, the garden, Shrine Room and office need specific attention. Join us for lunch (bring a contribution). If you can spare a few hours we would welcome your help. This will be followed by a meeting at 4pm

Individual members have kindly volunteered to look after certain aspects of the centre on a weekly basis with general cleaning, including looking after the Shrine and maintaining the garden. Additional help to assist those members with these jobs would be appreciated, so if you think you can help, please contact one of the members.

IF YOU’RE UNABLE TO MAKE THE CLEANING SESSION, PLEASE COME FOR THE GENERAL MEETING AT 4PM!

VISIT BY HER EMINENCE JETSUN KUSHOK

Words cannot express our pleasure of being able to inform you that Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok has agreed to visit Bournemouth next summer during her European Tour in the summer. Early dates suggest Her Eminence will be with us for a week late July / early August.

There are many websites with Her Eminence’s background. As His Holiness’s sister, she received her training alongside him and is qualified to transmit important retreats. At this point we hope that Her Eminence will be able to give teachings on 21 Taras.

Details will be posted in the centre, the web site and of course in future newsletters. Spaces will be limited so please watch web site. We anticipate the cost to be £90 for the 3 days. A £30 deposit to Liz Elwick will secure your place.

For details of Jetsun’s background see the Sakya Resource Guide. There are many other websites with details of past and future teachings given by her Eminence including:

Although Tibet has always had many accomplished female Buddhist practitioners, out of modesty few have emerged as prominent teachers. To have Jetsun Kushok Chimey Lunding, one of the most respected female teachers of Tibetan Buddhism among us is very precious indeed
